Scholarships

Trinity College offers a number of scholarships open to external students and current students. The scholarship program exists to foster diversity by ensuring that an education at Trinity College is available to as wide a range of students as possible. Our scholarship program seeks to offer places to students who will contribute to the richness and diversity of the College’s community. Scholarships are provided through the generosity of donors to the College Foundation and existing corporate relationships.

The duration of individual scholarships varies from one year to six years. All scholarships listed below are applicable for the year level your child will be in 2024. Apply in Year 6

Trinity College offers an academic scholarship annually to students entering Year 7. Applications are welcome from current students or external students wishing to attend Trinity College. The scholarship entitles the successful applicant up to 50% discount (on tuition fees only) for Years 7 to 12. Successful applicants will receive a certificate acknowledging this achievement. An annual review of the successful recipients will occur in December each year to ensure satisfactory progress is maintained.

CRITERIA

  • Applicants must be in Year 6 at the time of application.
  • The scholarship is awarded to a student who has an outstanding academic ability based on school reports, NAPLAN test results and a cover letter written by the student.
  • The applicant must sit the College examination to be held on Saturday 24 February 2024.

Applications close on Tuesday 20 February 2024 and a $20 examination fee must be paid prior to sitting the examination. The College exam will be held on Saturday 24 February 2024.

The Colin & Alexandra Hamilton Scholarship is funded through a generous bequest to the College by Mr Colin and Mrs Alexandra Hamilton. The scholarship seeks to offer places to students who will contribute to the richness and diversity of the College community. The scholarship is open to current and external students wishing to attend the College. The scholarship entitles the successful applicants up to 50% discount (on tuition fees only) for Years 7 to 12.

CRITERIA

  • Applicants must be in Year 6 at the time of application.
  • The scholarship is awarded to students whose financial circumstances mean they would find it difficult to attend or complete their secondary education at Trinity College.

PROCESS

  • Applications must be received by close of business Friday 22 March 2024.

Trinity College offers General Excellence Scholarships annually to current and external students who have positive academic ability which is supported by a strong talent in an additional area (eg: performing arts or sport). The scholarship entitles the successful applicant to a 50% discount (on tuition fees only) for Years 7 to 12.

CRITERIA

  • Internal applicants must be in Year 6 at the time of application.
  • External applicants can be in Years 6 to 11 at the time of application.
  • Outstanding academic ability, which is supported by a particular talent in an additional area.

PROCESS

  • Applications must be received by close of business Friday 22 March 2024. External applicants may apply while in other year levels and, in extenuating circumstances, these applications may be considered after the closing date.

The Hayley Centenera Scholarship was established by past Trinity College parents Julian and Helen Centenera in memory of their daughter, Hayley, whose life was tragically cut short in December 2005. Hayley is remembered for her great vitality, infectious smile and her love for being involved in everything whether it was learning, playing or performing. The Hayley Centenera Scholarship seeks to support a student who without this financial support would not have the opportunity to attend Trinity College.

This scholarship is currently filled and will not be offered in 2024/2025.

CRITERIA

  • The scholarship is for a student in either Years 6, 7, 8 or 9.
  • Applicants may be an existing student of Trinity South or an external student and should be from a family that would otherwise not be able to afford tuition fees.
  • The scholarship is for overall contribution. The recipient need not be an outstanding academic, but will show a strong commitment to their studies and will be able to detail achievements in areas outside the academic program.
  • The successful recipient will have a high involvement in all areas of school life and be willing to give back into the College by way of recognition of Hayley’s contribution and character as a student who contributed enthusiastically to the whole life of the school.
  • Applicants will be required to submit school reports and NAPLAN test results. Proof of family income is also required.
  • Applications will be reviewed by the South School Principal and the Foundation Office. Recipients of this scholarship will be required to meet certain obligations.
  • The progress and contributions of the student are reported to the Centenera Family annually by the South School Principal.

PROCESS

  • The scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Head of Trinity College.

TENURE

  • Awarded to a student entering or currently in Years 6, 7, 8 or 9. Tenable for Years 7-10.

VALUE

  • 50% off tuition fees for Years 7 to 10.

OBLIGATION

  • Scholarship recipients would be expected to maintain a satisfactory academic and social progress in each semester.

Trinity College offers a Performing Arts Scholarship annually for a student entering Year 7 with outstanding or demonstrated ability in drama, composition, music or voice. This scholarship is open to current and external students.

CRITERIA

  • Applicants must be in Year 6 at the time of application.
  • The scholarship is open to internal and external students.
  • The scholarship is awarded to a student who has outstanding performing arts ability.

PROCESS

  • Applications must be received by close of business Friday 22 March 2024.

  • Short listed applicants will be notified well in advance to prepare an audition and be interviewed by Trinity College staff.
  • Candidates may choose to audition in one or more areas;
  • Drama students will be required to perform a three (3) minute monologue.
  • Composition, music or voice students will be required to perform for no longer than three (3) minutes.
  • The scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Head of Trinity College.
  • No award shall be made if, in the opinion of the Head, no candidate is of sufficient merit.

  • The scholarship will entitle the successful applicant to a 50% discount on tuition fees only for six years (Years 7 to 12).
  • Two scholarships are awarded per annum. One for an internal student and one for an external student.
  • An annual review of the successful recipient will occur in December each year so that satisfactory progress is maintained.
  • The successful applicants will receive a certificate acknowledging this achievement.

EXPECTATIONS

The successful applicants have an obligation to participate fully in the College’s music program and will:

  • be available for solo and ensemble performances as required
  • speak at a College assembly or gathering as a scholarship recipient if required
  • participate in at least two school ensembles per year
  • satisfactory progress in the students performing art, assessed by teacher reports, performances and external examinations
  • satisfactory overall academic progress, effort and behaviour
  • be photographed and acknowledged in the College publications and on the website.

The Sliding Doors Scholarship seeks to support high achieving students with leadership potential whose financial circumstances mean they would find it difficult to attend or complete their education at Trinity College. The scholarship is open to current and external students wishing to attend the Trinity College.

The Sliding Doors Foundation is an Adelaide based organisation that exists to build better futures for children in Northern Adelaide, by empowering young people with an ability to realise their full potential by improving access to education, building leadership capacity and by creating opportunities that ensure high achieving young people are ready to pursue their chosen pathway and contribute meaningfully to their community.

The scholarship entitles the successful applicant up to a 60% discount (on tuition fees only) for Years 7 to Year 12.

CRITERIA

  • Open to current or external students with a desire to attend Trinity College.
  • Applicants must be in Year 6 at the time of application.
  • The successful applicant must reside in a one of the following Northern Adelaide suburbs: Salisbury, Salisbury Downs, Salisbury North, Paralowie, Salisbury East, Salisbury Heights, Salisbury Park, Brahma Lodge, Elizabeth East, Elizabeth Grove, Elizabeth, Hillbank, Elizabeth South, Elizabeth Vale, Elizabeth Downs, Davoren Park, Andrews Farm, Smithfield Plains, Craigmore, Blakeview, Munno Para, Munno Para West and Kudla.
  • Applicants must demonstrate that their financial circumstances mean they would find it difficult to attend or complete their secondary education at Trinity College.
  • Applicants must be achieving above average academic results consistently and be continually striving to improve.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have displayed leadership potential, who want to make a positive impact in their community and who are keen to give back to the College.

  • Two scholarships can be awarded per annum.
  • A Certificate of acknowledgment will be presented to successful candidates from the Sliding Doors Foundation.

The successful applicant must maintain satisfactory academic and behavioural record to continue to hold the scholarship.

Apply in Year 10

AON is a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions. The AON scholarship shows their support for education as well as provide future employees of their company. The scholarship can lead to a cadetship with AON that will help as the student studies and furthers their educational needs. There is no compulsion for AON to commit to the employment of the recipient; likewise there is no compulsion for the recipient to commit to employment at AON, although this is part of the aim of the scholarship.

CRITERIA

  • AON Insurance Services offers one scholarship annually to a Year 10 student entering Year 11 the following year.
  • Open to current and external students.
  • Applicants to be studying and performing well in subjects relating to insurance brokerage, accountancy, law, engineering, valuation and risk assessment.

PROCESS

  • Applications must be received by Friday 2 August 2024.
  • If currently attending a school other than Trinity College an Application for Enrolment must be completed online for the scholarship process to proceed. For further information, please contact the Enrolments Team on 8522 0666.
  • The selection committee will make its selection on the basis of the application, an interview and presentation by the candidate.
  • The scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Head of Trinity College in conjunction with an AON representative.
  • No award shall be made if, in the opinion of the Head, no candidate is of sufficient merit.

  • The successful recipient will be entitled to a 50% remission on tuition fees for Years 11 and 12 subject to satisfactory progress.

  • The winners names will be engraved on the Foundation Scholarship Honour Board in the College Common.

Apply in Year 10 or Year 11

This scholarship seeks to support an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student who aspires to future tertiary study and would benefit from financial support to help achieve this goal. The Trinity College Indigenous Scholarship was established by Professor Helen Thorne and Doctor Rupert Thorne. This scholarship is open to current or external students.

CRITERIA

  • Applicants must be in Year 10 or Year 11 at the time of application and be enrolled in Trinity College Senior the following year.
  • Must demonstrate strong academic results.
  • Must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Must demonstrate a genuine intention to undertake future tertiary study.
  • Must demonstrate an extensive commitment to the College and its endeavours.
  • The scholarship will consider financial circumstances in order to promote academic excellence.
  • A current recipient may reapply in Year 11/12.

  • Applications must be received by Friday 2 August 2024.

This scholarship seeks to support a student who contributes to the richness of College life, enjoys team work, strives to do their best academically and has a passion for hockey. The aim of the scholarship is to foster diversity by ensuring an education at Trinity is available to a wide range of students who may require financial support to continue to pursue these interests. This scholarship was established by Brad and Sally Collings and their daughters’ old scholars Sophie (2017), Maggie (2019) and Breanna (2021) who were all keen hockey players and generous volunteers to College life.

CRITERIA

  • Applicants must be in Year 10 or Year 11 at the time of application and be enrolled at Trinity College Senior.
  • The applicant must demonstrate strong academic results and a keen interest in hockey.
  • The scholarship will consider the financial circumstances of the applicant.
  • A current recipient may reapply in Year 11.

PROCESS

  • Applications must be received by Friday 2 August 2024.
  • Short listed applicants will be notified and may be required to attend an interview.
  • All information supplied by applicants, including all financial details, will remain strictly confidential.
  • Data supporting financial need must be supplied with a completed application and will be reviewed by the Director of Finance.
  • The scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Head of Trinity College.

This scholarship seeks to support a student who enjoys problem solving, team work, is entrepreneurial, a strong communicator, enjoys creative thinking and implementing ideas that make a difference. It aims to support a student who excels in science, mathematics or technology and has a passion for engineering and innovation and may require financial support to continue to pursue these interests.

CRITERIA

  • Applicants must be in Year 10 or Year 11 at the time of application and be enrolled at Trinity College Senior the following year.
  • The applicant must demonstrate strong academic results in mathematics, science and technology subjects.
  • The applicant must demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in engineering.
  • The scholarship will consider the financial circumstances of the applicant.
  • A current recipient may reapply in Year 11.

PROCESS

  • Applications must be received by Friday 2 August 2024.
  • Short listed applicants will be notified and may be required to attend an interview.
  • All information supplied by applicants including all financial details will remain strictly confidential.

Apply in Early Years

The Roseworthy Hewitson Scholarship is funded through a generous donation to the College by Michael and Rosslyn Hewitson who were both founding staff at the College when it was established in 1985 at Evanston South. The Hewitson’s share a passion for education in the Anglican tradition and support the College vision of being open to all. This scholarship seeks to support a student who may require financial assistance to attend Trinity College Roseworthy.

The scholarship is open to any student wishing to attend Trinity College Roseworthy however, preference will be given to applications from children of old scholars of Trinity College. The scholarship entitles the successful applicant to a 50% discount (on tuition fees only) for Early Years to Year 6.

CRITERIA

  • Applicants must have a desire to attend Trinity College Roseworthy or who have received an offer of enrolment to Trinity College Roseworthy.
  • Applicants will be of preschool age at the time of application.
  • The scholarship is awarded to students whose financial circumstances mean they would find it difficult to attend Trinity College Roseworthy.

PROCESS

  • Applications must be received by close of business Friday 2 August 2024.
  • Applicants must have completed an Application for Enrolment or have received an offer to attend Trinity College Roseworthy.
  • All applications are handled confidentially due to the sensitive nature of financial circumstances that are involved for the applicants.
