National Coach Visit Builds Skills and Leadership

November 22, 2024

Origin Australian Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich visited Trinity College on Wednesday 20 November to meet students and host several coaching sessions.

College netballers gained priceless experience working and spending time with Stacey when students in Years 7 to 11 from the College’s Netball Academy enjoyed on-court coaching and leadership sessions.

The visit was made possible thanks to the generosity of current parent and local Terry White Pharmacy owner Michael Burdelof who purchased the visit at a recent fundraising auction in support of Ovarian Cancer Research.

“Stacey Marinkovich has a wealth of insight to share and coaching knowledge to pass on, it only made sense to give Trinity students access to her insight. It has been my pleasure to donate this opportunity to the College while also raising awareness of ovarian cancer and research to help find a cure.” he said.

Trinity Sports Administrator and Netball Co-ordinator Tarn Harte added “The chance for our students to gain valuable leadership skills and insights from one of their netball heroes and mentors as well as the development our coaches will be gaining by working with Stacey is extraordinary. The knowledge they gain will be a benefit to our netballers for years to come.”

“Being able to spend time with Stacey will have a long-lasting impact and will no doubt help our students realise their full potential, not just with their education but as future leaders within their community.”
