Isaac Heads to Canberra for Big Week Out!

Congratulations to Isaac Prewett (Year 11) whose entry in the annual Australian Geography Competition achieved a first in South Australia for Year 11!

As a consequence, Isaac has been invited to the Geography Big Week Out (GBWO) a gathering of the top 16 Year 11 geographers in the nation. Isaac joins an elite group of only four Trinity students to be invited to attend this prestigious event in the 29 years of the competition’s history. 

Isaac will travel to the Canberra in Term 3 to participate in a mix of stimulating and hands-on geography activities, focusing on fieldwork, designed to challenge and extend the high-performing senior students. 

Working in groups, this year in Jindabyne and around Canberra itself, team members will split tasks between the groups, sharing data and uploading results to a common website. 

On the last day participants will sit a test in the hopes of being selected as a team member to represent Australia at the International Geography Olympiad that will be held in Bangkok, Thailand next year. Good luck Isaac!
