Frist Nations Story Telling Experience

April 14, 2023

Some of our youngest students enjoyed a First Nations storytelling experience today when Indigenous story teller Trent Hill visited the preschool.

Trent Hill is an Indigenous storyteller, educator and guide who has worked at Adelaide Botanic Garden for more than 10 years. He also offers programs for junior primary, primary and senior students about Aboriginal plant use, artefact lessons and Dreaming Stories.

As well as telling the students a Dreaming Story, Trent also brought along a number of artefacts, played the didgeridoo and drew animal tracks, signs and symbols on the whiteboard and in sandpit. He also demonstrated one of the techniques First Nations people used to make a fire.

All the children and teachers really enjoyed the experience and learned so much.
