Award Night Success for Trinity Athletes
A Trinity College student, staff member and old scholar were acknowledged at the 2025/26 Athletics South Australia Awards night last week.
Current student Kelechi Ekwomadu (Year 12) who was recently selected to represent Australia at the World Athletics U/20 World Championships later this year was announced as a short-listed candidate for Junior SA Athlete of the Year.
Long serving staff member Malcolm Bennett was one of three athletes to be awarded Athletics SA Life Membership and old scholar Logoh Tligi (2022) won the Barb Stephens Award for Best Multi Event Athlete of the year.
Guest Speaker, Australian Olympic Committee CEO Mark Arbib acknowledged the athletes, award winners, officials and volunteers and made special mention of the three Life Member recipients, stating that to receive life membership was the most esteemed honour an organisation can bestow, due to the length and quality of the respective recipients’ contribution to the sport.
