Kelechi Named Sportsperson of the Year
Kelechi Ekwomadu (Year 11) an impressive sprinter with a bright future has been announced as Trinity College’s 2025 Sportsperson of the Year from the most incredible shortlist of athletes in the College's history.
Kelechi's past year on the track was literally one for the record books. A national 100m championship, a world championship-qualifying 200m, a state 200m record, Open Boys 100m and 200m SAAS records (both of which stood for more than 20 years), as well as College records list of achievements were hard to beat.

Kelechi has been an inspiration to his peers and has brought an energy and buzz to the already high-performing athletics program and as well as his own performance achievements, he is coaching younger athletes in the College development program as well.

2025 Outstanding Achievement In Sport Winners
The short list of nominees for 2025 Sportsperson of the Year is nothing short of outstanding.
Deng Manyang (Year 12) who has signed with the Adelaide 36ERS, Aidan Schubert (Year 12) who has been drafted to Hawthorn Football Club, Miley Grigg (Year 11) who is the youngest person ever to be signed by Adelaide United, and Evan Staker (Year 12), who has signed with the Adelaide Fire Hockey Team.
We congratulate all these impressive student-athletes on their achievements this year and look forward to seeing their photos in the College Sporting Hall of Fame soon.
Deng Manyang has had a breakout season!
In the NBL1, winning the Field Goal percent award and earning an NBL contract, all while playing games for Trinity College in the morning and for the Lions the same evening. US College beckons for Deng in 2026.

Aidan's 2026 has been nearly flawless.
A huge national championships campaign saw him rise up the draft boards, all while playing games for Trinity amidst his heavy representative schedule.

Miley was the youngest-ever player to be signed by Adelaide United in the 2023/24 season.
Since then, she has clocked game time in six matches in the 24/25 season. A future Trinity College Sporting Hall-of-Famer, Miley is playing for MetroStars this season, with her eyes on Europe in 2026.

An accomplished goalkeeper, Evan played on-field for Trinity's A2 Championship team this year and has always given his time for College hockey.
