2011/12 Trinity College Tennis Presentations The Trinity College 2011-12 Tennis Presentation was held on Monday 2 April and was attended by about 120 guests. The official proceedings included highlights of the season, KO matches, morning special squads and the specialised private in school lessons. Grand final teams were acknowledged and premiership teams were photographed. The first year Hot Shots players were presented with medallions and individual awards were announced, followed by the acknowledgement of the Grand Final participating teams. Read more here.

Trinity College Blue drew 3 sets 27 games with Xavier Saints 3 sets 27 games
Dylan Kotsano/Bradley MacGowan won 6-0
Ryan Schneider/Daniel Wormal lost 2-6

Another great day of tennis at Gawler River. Dylan Kotsano and Bradley MacGowan played a superb doubles game together, winning 6-0. Their doubles game has been outstanding, particularly their use of the net and ball placement. Ryan Schneider and Daniel Wormald lost 2-6 but continue to improve their game together. Bradley MacGowan played to 7 sets in a hard fought win. His consistency and calmness under pressure was excellent. Dylan Kotsano won 6-4 in a tough game. He continues to hit winners down the line and cross court. Ryan Schneider showed great persistence in his match and continues to serve and volley excellently. Daniel Wormald lost 3-6 and also continues to demonstrate improved serving and confidence. A top day of tennis. Well done to all the players.

Gawler & District Tennis Association Junior Tournament

Trinity students are encouraged to enter enter this tournament, to be held at the Gawler & District Association courts on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of January, 2012. It offers an excellent chance to improve your game over the break. Nominations are due by December 17. More information and entry form.

SAPSASA District Team trials
Trials for the Gawler and District SAPSASA Tennis team will be held at Gawler Association Courts next to Gawler Pool, on Wednesday September 7^th,14^th & 21st Girls 4-5 pm, Boys 5-6 pm. Download the registration form here.

Hot Shots Tennis

Hot Shots Tennis is an entry-level tennis program suitable for players in Reception to Year 5, which employs a modified program to help prepare players for competition within the Trinity Tennis Program. Join in the fun during term 3 at either Blakeview or Gawler on Fridays from 3:30-4:30pm. More information

Ball in Hayden's court

Year nine South student Hayden Mickan's tennis career moves from strength to strength with outstanding results at the National Junior Grasscourts Championships recently.

From February 22-27 Hayden competed in the 14&U Boys National Grasscourt Tennis Championships in Mildura. Hayden (pictured right) was the 14th seed in a draw of 64. He won through to the final 16, losing to the 3rd seed. Then winning the following 2 out of 3 matches, including defeating the 9th seed, placed him in 10th position overall for the tournament.

Hayden has been given a great opportunity to train at a tennis academy in Valencia, Spain. This will commence in April for three months. Training is for 6 hours a day, 5-6 days per week and consists of private coaching, group hitting, physical training, etc. The academy also arranges for its players to play tournaments throughout Spain. Young players from mainly Europe and Russia attend; Hayden will be the first Australian.

Hayden’s present weekly training regime is 4 private coaching sessions in Gawler, a private and a group session at the National High Performance Tennis Academy at Memorial Drive, plus physical training.

We wish Hayden all the best with his tennis career.

Hot Shots Beginners Tennis

hot Shots Beginners Tennis is held on Courts 1 - 4 at Gawler every Friday afternoon. The courts are located near the entrance gates on Greening Drive.

The participation fee is $55 per player for the Term and will be charged to Fee Accounts.
