Horsemanship 2017

Students from all year levels may undertake this program.

What does Horsemanship involve?
Horsemanship covers a variety of areas and is a hands-on, fun-based learning experience that includes; safety around horses, basic care of ponies, grooming, feeding and horse management. Learning the basics of horsemanship including catching, leading, how to saddle and basic riding skills. These skills are based on individual riders' needs.

Horse activities included

  • washing ponies (if a warm afternoon presents itself)
  • learning to identify the parts of a pony/horse
  • understanding saddles and bridles and the list goes on.

Students should not expect to ride every week.

Equipment required
Students will be required to bring an approved riding helmet and ensure they are wearing approved leather-sided riding boots. Further information will be sent to you when enrolling in the class.

Horse Care - Week Nights
If The Advertiser of the day indicates a temperature of 35 degrees (or higher) Horse Care will be cancelled.

Saturday Morning Horse Care & Riding Club
If The Advertiser of the day indicates a temperature of 35 degrees (or higher) Horse Care and Riding Club will be cancelled.
