Trinity College Tennis information

The tennis program offers many forms and levels of Tennis. Our representative tennis involves playing SAPSASA, Knockout (only from year 8 upwards) and Drive tennis. To play in any of these your child must be playing in a Trinity team that the College organises.

The levels of tennis are:

Beginners Tennis

MLC Hot Shots - This are for Reception to year 5 students and there are sessions at each College site during term 3:

  • Gawler River - Monday
  • Blakeview - Friday
  • South - Friday
  • North - Friday

There are 2 levels Red ball and Orange ball. Notes should have been given out in week 1.

CANCELLATION - Friday 16th August - HotShots due to inclement weather

Orange Ball internal modified match program
A non-competitive program where children doing orange ball at the Hot Shots sessions can come along and learn to play matches on a modified court. These will be held on Saturday mornings from 8.30 to 10am on courts 1 to 4 in term 3 and courts 9 to 12 in term 4.

Orange Ball match program
Training/coaching once a week and matches on Friday afternoons at the Gawler Association Courts. Starting in term 4.

Green Ball match program (Gawler and NETA)
The first form of competition tennis, more advanced coaching techniques, strategy and tactical development. Games are played Saturday mornings in teams of 4.

Main Competition - lower grades (Sat am)

  • Full court and competition tennis balls in the Gawler Association and NETA

Main Competition - higher grades (Fri pm)

  • Full court and competition tennis balls in the Gawler Association and NETA

SAPSASA
As mentioned above to play in the Playford or Gawler Representative teams you must be playing for the College.

Knock Out College teams.
To be considered for these teams you  must be playing for the College and attend practice sessions in term 3 with Mr Sellick on Thursdays.

Drive Tennis
This is our top team of the College. To be considered for this team you must be playing in a high standard, attend Drive practices and be involved in an Academy Squad.

To support the programs mentioned and to extend players we offer the following;

Academy Training: (runs wk 2 to wk 8 each term) 

  • Open Age Academy
  • 14's B Academy
  • 12's C Academy

Membership is by Invitation and application only.
Sessions will involve small group training, working on extensive tactics and drills.
All players who participate in the above academies are welcome to still get privately coached by their preferred coaches.
