SAPSASA Gold for Basketballers

sapsasa champs

Sept 19:

Trinity South School has won the year 6/7 state basketball championship after defeating Reynella East Primary School in a tense final at Morphett Vale stadium today.

In both teams' sixth game of the day, Trinity won the battle of attrition, executing high-percentage plays and battling galliantly on the boards despite being undersized.

It is the first time in College history that a Trinity team has won the SAPSASA title, and cements this team's place among the elite after finishing with a silver medal last year.

The entire team played hard all day and stuck together when it mattered most.  The championship was just dessert for a team that acted with class throughout the campaign, and gave up numerous lunchtimes to practice and achieve their goal.

The team played teams from all over the state en route to their victory – including an after-the-buzzer free throw to defeat Torrens Valley in our first game of the day; and then victories over St Albert's (Loxton); Mitcham; Linden Park and St Joseph's (Port Lincoln).

Thankyou to the families for their support throughout the campaign, and congratulations to Trinity's newest state champions:
